Why You Need A Electronic Detection K9's To Work In Your Community?

Our Community and Law Enforcement is constantly facing the horrible challenges of Child Sexual Abuse, Physical Abuse, Sex Trafficking, Domestic Abuse, Substance Abuse and More. We are offering a simple solution that has been shown to help make a difference. Defenders For Children is requesting your assistance to help us in our efforts to provide an Electronic Device K9 to the Greenville County Sheriff's Office Children's Crime Unit. This K9 will assist in searches connected to child abuse and neglect reports. The rescue dog would be professionally trained to locate very important yet often overlooked evidence including micro SD Cards, USBs, and other electronic devices that may contain sensitive photos, financial information, contacts, etc. One such device could hold thousands of images or videos of children that need help and can be used as evidence in court to prosecute offenders.

Below are some of the tiny devices the Electronic Detection K9 can find. These tiny devices can hidden places where the law enforcement can easily miss during a search. They have been found in piles of garbage, attics, walls and more. Just one device hold more then 288,000 images of children being abused. It is important to find everything we can to help save the children and bring more evidence to prosecute the criminals.

However, there are only 20 ED dogs available to police forces in the US. Their services have yielded proven results in past child abuse cases like the bust of Subway spokesperson, Jared Fogle, so we are confident that adding a similarly trained animal to the Greenville County Sheriff's Office will allow our local officers to catch more predators, rescue more children, and deter potential abusers.

The following is just a sample of what our children are facing and why we are moving forward with this exciting new project.
  • 70% of child sex offenders have between 1 and 9 victims, while 20% have 10 to 40 victims.
  • Child sex cases are some of the most difficult cases to prosecute without evidence.
  • Yearly estimate; 800 children in Greenville County, under the age of 18 receive service from a local advocacy center for sexual abuse.
  • 1 in 10 children will be sexually abused before age 18.
  • 20% of the children will be abused before the age of 8 years old.
  • About 75% of child pornography victims are living at home when they are photographed. Parents are often responsible.
  • Child sexual abuse makes children more vulnerable to sexual exploitation.
  • More than 90% of children who are commercially sexually exploited have been sexually abused in the past.
  • Buyers drive the market that makes child sexual exploitation lucrative for predators and traffickers. Few buyers face serious consequences.
  • Studies consistently report that 50% - 90% of child sex trafficking has been involved in the child welfare system.
  • Technology has made it easier to harm children. The spread of child sexual abuse material exploded with the rise of the internet, while sex trafficking increased with exposure to a greater market online.
  • 70% of child sex offenders have between 1 and 9 victims, while 20% have 10 to 40 victims.

We are asking a few of our key partners to rally their friends, family, and networks to support our work. By becoming a fundraiser for Defenders for Children, you will help more children facing sexual abuse and exploitation in Greenville County & Upstate South Carolina, and you'll help your friends feel good about doing good.

Starting a fundraiser is easy to do, and it's fun. We'll even give you all the tools you'll need to make a difference. With your help we can ensure Donation Will Help A Electronic Detection K9's To Be Placed In The Greenville County Sheriff's Office And Other Local Law Enforcement Agencies. The more we raise the more K9's will be placed in separate locations.
